Trendy Cupcakes

Cup cakes are all the rage these days. There are shops selling these tiny, fancy cakes mushrooming everywhere and some are shockingly pricey!

This yummy little cakes are really easy to make and are in actual fact, little basic mini cakes with fancy toppings.

All you have to do is get the right equipment to make creative toppings and icing frosting. Oh...don't forget to wear your creativity hat and let your kids help out too. It's lots of fun.

I've added a picture of freshly-baked little cakes with chocolate buttercream icing below.

I use a very basic Butter Cake Recipe for my cupcakes.

The cake should not be too sweet as the topping will more than make up for the lack of sugar in the actual cake.

You may opt to omit any frosting or icing on these delicious tiny cakes but if you do prefer to add frosting, please use minimally so as not to overwhelm this delicious recipe.

Tip: Let the cakes cool completely first before frosting them. This will make it easier and less messy. I refrigerate my cupcakes overnight and add frosting the next day.
