Banana Rolls
"Banana Rolls with Honey and Custard Sauce"
This is an amazingly simple recipe with generous amount of honey and is to be eaten with custard sauce. Great idea for birthday parties, cocktails and tea parties. It goes extremely well with black coffee. Yum! Banana Rolls. Ingredients. 5 ripe Bananas, cut into half lengthwise. 10 filo pastry sheet 8 tbsps of honey Oil for deep-frying 2 tbsps sugar 1/2 cup of evaporated milk 1 tsp vanilla essence 1 tbsp custard powder, mixed into 1 cup water. Preparation. 1. Lay a halved Banana on a filo pastry sheet. Drizzle 1 tbsp honey over. Fold in sides of filo pastry sheet and roll up. Use the rest of the ingredients until there are 10 rolls. 2. Heat oil in a pan and when hot, deep-fry rolls in batches, until golden brown. Cool and set aside. 3. In another pan, add sugar and stir over a low fire until melted. Stir in evaporated milk and vanilla essence into the custard mixture. 4. Pour the mixture into the pan with melted sugar and slowly bring to a rolling boil. Take it off the stove and pour into a serving bowl. 5. Serve with the custard sauce.
