Healthy Banana Nut Bread Recipe to tempt your guests!



This Banana Nut Bread Recipe which uses wholemeal bread flour and wheatgerm.

This Banana Nut Bread Recipe also uses raisins and has a rich crunchy texture and is delicious with butter and marmalade.

I prefer to make it for afternoon tea rather than breakfast especially if you have guests to entertain. Give it a shot!

You can also play around with the recipe and alternate the raisins with any other dry fruits for example; dates, sultanas.

It is always great fun to experiment and I do that a lot with my recipes until I find the perfect combination that suits my family's taste buds. Yum!

The recipe is as follows:-

Banana Nut Bread Recipe.

Ingredients:

1 and 1/2 cups of wholemeal flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup wheatgerm

1/2 cup castor sugar

1 and 1/2 cups raisins

125g butter, melted

1 and 1/4 cups milk

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup mashed banana

1/4 cup roasted peanuts.

Banana Nut Bread Recipe Preparation:

1. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl, mix in wheatgerm, sugar and raisins.

2. Stir in butter, milk, eggs and banana.

3. Pour into square loaf pan, sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Bake in moderate oven for 1 hours 20 mins.
