The fruit grows in hanging clusters known as a bunch with an average of 20 fruits to a tier called a hand, and 5-20 tiers to a bunch. All the hanging clusters is known as a bunch, or commercially as a "banana stem" and can weigh betwen 30 to 50 kgs. On average the fruit weighs 125 g, of which approximately 75% is water and 25% dry matter content.
